My first time using Akala, as I was visiting from New Zealand. Very friendly staff who made me feel welcome. A clean & tidy salon. Alex is lovely, and very skilful. I was delighted with the results of my Manicure and pedicure. Thanks heaps, team.

This is such a lovely place to get your nails and treatments done. Crystal is amazing she always does a fantastic job she is so friendly, kind and always gives me good advise for my nails. Will be booking again and definitely recommend Akala beauty.

I went to Akala to have a lash extension and I was booked with Crystal ( proof of appointment/call retained). Some of the lashes fell off within a couple of days, leaving gaps, so I went back to the place immediately and they offered me a free infill within a few days' time. Unfortunately, I got my timings wrong on the day (was having a day from hell) and turned up late. I apologised profusely and Claire booked in me for the following week, as they were very busy. The service was still free and Claire knew this and at no point did she ask me to pay etc. When I turned up for my appointment (with chocolates), there was a child (primary school age ) and Crystal at the reception. Crystal was extremely rude and her tone was aggressive shouting over the child saying that I had to pay etc as I had missed my appointment. I was taken aback by the brashness, lack of etiquette and aggressive tone. I would have paid happily if Crystal had been polite and courteous; I addressed this with her and she blatantly denied being rude, showing complete superciliousness. In the end she agreed to honour the original agreement but I left as I didn't trust her and I was appalled by her demeaning, condescending and supercilious behaviour, that too with a child in the salon. No matter how much they deny and defend their behaviour, the fact that I have taken time out of a busy schedule to write in such details, is a proof of how much of a bad taste it has left in my mouth. I take pride in the area I live in and it's such a shame that there are individuals who think that they can get away with such appalling behaviour. Needless to say, I have found somewhere else and I'm happy. Paying was never an issue but repugnant behaviour does not go down well with me.

Fantastic beauty salon! The very best someone has ever done my nails i will never go anywhere else now. The customer service is fantastic, the girls make you feel very comfortable and have a good chat. Covid precautions are brilliant also, i felt very safe. Nice clean salon with fab staff! Couldnt recommend highly enough!

I recently had a lovely shellac manicure and luxury pedicure here at Akala! It gave me the perfect boost during this cold weather and the girls made me feel so relaxed and couldn’t do enough for me! The treatment was lovely and my nails are lasting perfectly! My luxury pedicure included a relaxing foot and leg massage I haven’t felt this relaxed in ages! The staff are super friendly and make you feel comfortable, the salon is very clean and all covid measures are in place, I felt very safe being in their salon. I will definetly be booking in for a treatment again soon!
